[REGIONAL NEWS] Study finds plastic is ‘raining’ from the skies over the Rocky Mountains

A team of researchers from the U.S. Geological Survey made a surprising discovery while analyzing rainwater samples from remote parts of the Rocky Mountains. When they looked at the samples under a microscope, they found trace amounts of microplastics in the samples they collected.

They published their results in a paper titled “It Is Raining Plastic” and wrote that they found plastic fibers in a variety of colors in 90% of the samples they tested.
