The Scottsdale City Council voted 4-3 last night to approve development and zoning plans for a new 150-foot tall building in downtown Scottsdale.
The council approved plans for the Marquee development on Scottsdale Road near Camelback Road.
Stockdale Capital Partners plans to build the 150-foot, Class A office building on the site. Plans call for 250,000 square feet of Class A offices and 21,000 square feet of retail.
The project sparked debate over height and density in downtown and Old Town Scottsdale but also addresses concerns about lack of new Class A space in Scottsdale.
Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane and Councilmembers Virginia Korte, Suzanne Klapp and Linda Milhaven voted for the Marquee plans.
Councilors Guy Phillips, Solange Whitehead and Kathy Littlefield voted against it.
