Gilbert has the best performing housing market in Arizona and the 14th best nationally.
That is according to new research from Wallet Hub.
The financial research firm looked at home values, price gains as well as economic factors such as job growth in 300 U.S. cities.
Gilbert did best among Arizona cities. Boise, Idaho was first nationally followed by Frisco, Texas, Overland Park, Kansas and Cary, North Carolina.
Among other Arizona cities, Chandler was 63rd, Tempe (69th), Mesa (96th), Peoria (97th), Surprise (104th), Phoenix (123rd), Scottsdale (156th) and Glendale (165th).
Gilbert has seen employment gains and has become a desirable place to live thanks to its schools, upper middle-class demographics and Heritage District restaurants.
The lowest ranked housing market were Newark, Detroit and Dayton, Ohio, according to Wallet Hub.
