Speculative Class A office space will be built in the West Valley as part of the planned Goodyear Civic Square at Estrella Falls development.
The Goodyear City Council approved a development deal with the Globe Corporation last night for the planned development at 150th Drive and McDowell Road.
Plans call for a new Goodyear City Hall, library and a 2-acre park at the Civic Square development.
Globe Corp. will also build 100,000 square feet of Class speculative office space. Goodyear hopes the office space will help attract more employers. Amazon.com has expanded its distribution footprint and Nike is opening a new manufacturing plant in Goodyear.
Globe Corp. owns 47 acres where the Civic Square development is being built.
“This project has been a long time in the making and is one of the reasons I began my career on council years ago,” said Mayor Georgia Lord. “Our residents are what makes our city a close-knit community, and I look forward to celebrating holidays and special occasions in this new gathering space together. Goodyear Civic Square will certainly help shape the future of our community and it wouldn’t be possible without our incredible partnership with Globe Corporation.”
