A tattoo parlor could move into the heart of Gilbert’s restaurant and bar heavy Heritage District.

Fifth Estate Tattoo is looking at moving into a space at 384 Gilbert Road in the Heritage area. The building previously included now closed locations for Grubstak and Even Stevens.

Fifth Estate is currently located on Gilbert Road just south of the busy core of the Heritage District.

Gilbert’s Redevelopment Commission will look at the tattoo studio’s permit application on August 21.

Gilbert’s Planning Commission will consider allowing the tattoo parlor in the Heritage space on Sept. 4.

Gilbert’s Heritage District has become a top restaurant row with the likes of Barrio Queen, Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row, Culinary Dropout, Liberty Market and O.H.S.O Brewery and Distillery.

The town, which has owned and managed many of the parcels in the Heritage area, would like to see additional uses come to the area beyond just restaurants and bars.
