Former Tempe Councilman Kolby Granville surrendered his teaching certificate nearly two years after he was fired from his job at Tempe Preparatory Academy for allegations of inappropriate conduct.
Granville surrendered his teaching credentials on Aug. 22 ahead of a scheduled disciplinary hearing, according to the agenda for the Sept. 23 Arizona State Board of Education meeting.
Staff has recommended that the board accept the surrendered credentials, according to the agenda.
Granville’s decision came as the 45-year-old educator was set to face the state board’s disciplinary committee, the Professional Practices Advisory Committee, on Sept. 10, according to the agenda.
He instead voluntarily surrendered his credentials, the agenda states.
