It was a week of firsts at the city as the Flagstaff City Council held the first meeting after being off for a summer break, and it was the first week staff were working under the leadership of City Manager Greg Clifton.
Clifton, who was hired at the beginning of July, began on Aug. 26 and said he is enjoying the process of getting to know the city, the surrounding landscape and the people who have called Flagstaff home.
“The people have been incredibly warm and welcoming and that’s not because they know who I am or the position I hold,” Clifton said. “We find people greeting us on the sidewalks and in the town and in the grocery stores and in the coffee shops.”
