Dan Colton has seen the Broadway Industrial Corridor evolve since opening his commercial brokerage firm, Colton Commercial, just outside the business district in 1986.
At its height, the district was home to a Safeway distribution center, Sun Orchard, United Dairymen of Arizona’s milk processing plant, Crockett Honey’s bottling facility and other small-scale industrial operations.
More recently, entrepreneurs making and selling locally crafted products have moved into the area.
Yet the corridor, which stretches from Broadway Road to Southern Avenue and Priest Drive east to the railroad tracks, remains stagnant, Colton said.
