When Brett Hardt stepped onto a 5-acre lot in Prado Estates in north Scottsdale, he was immediately taken with the view of the mountains and the city. He eventually would be one of the first people to purchase a lot in the new subdivision.
The Hardt home was finished exactly two years ago, perfectly situated so the sun hits all the right places during the perfect times of year. But the lot was being put to good use for about a year before that.
An avid basketball fan, Hardt’s plans for his dream lot grew to epic proportions when an 80- by 50-foot basketball court was built 15 feet underground inside of their house. Construction on the gym was completed before the main part of the house.
