Plans have been put forward in Scottsdale for a new 123-room, four-story hotel just east of Scottsdale Fashion Square.

Kuber Development Co. wants to build a new Springhill Suites by Marriott Hotel on a 2-acre site at the northeast corner of Camelback Road and 68th Street.

The developer is asking for zoning district map amendment and a reduction in the parking requirement for the planned new hotel.

Development plans filed with the city of Scottsdale ask for 123 parking spaces at the hotel. That would be below the 154 parking spaces required under current zoning rules. The developer contends more guests are using Lyfts and Ubers allowing for fewer parking spots.

There are currently three abandoned smaller buildings on the property.
