The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors will meet later today to discuss a potential replacement for Maricopa County Assessor Paul Petersen.

The County Board suspended Petersen after he was indicted in three states as part of an adoption scheme investigation.

Petersen is an attorney who specialized in adoptions from the Marshall Islands. He faces fraud, forgery and theft charges in Arizona, Utah and from a federal court in Arkansas.

The Board will meet in Executive Session today to discuss a potential replacement for Petersen after deciding to suspend him from county duties.
