Former Tempe Councilman Kolby Granville files notice of claim against city

Ousted Tempe City Councilman Kolby Granville has filed a notice of claim against the city.

The city said in a statement posted to its website on Tuesday that it received Granville’s notice of claim “that contains false, misleading and potentially defamatory allegations.” 

“The City of Tempe will vigorously defend against these allegations if they appear in the form of an actual lawsuit,” the city said.

A copy of the claim, which is a precursor to a formal lawsuit, was not immediately available. The Arizona Republic has filed a public records request for the document.
