Goodyear has approved a change to its growth policy aimed at not discouraging new development.
The Goodyear Council approved a tweak to growth policies related to new developments outside of the West Valley city’s growth areas.
The existing policy discouraged rezoning and land-use changes for new projects until infrastructure planning and resources were in place.
But the policy raised concerns it was too restrictive and discouraged investments in the city.
The Goodyear Council changed the policy to allow for rezoning requests to proceed if they are concurrent with developers’ and builders’ infrastructure planning and resource allocation.
