Neighbors pushed out this Phoenix Dutch Bros. Now new location plans thwarted

Dutch Bros. Coffee in central Phoenix has nixed a potential move to Third Avenue and Camelback Road after listening to criticism from would-be neighboring businesses and residents.

The coffee shop currently sits in a highly-trafficked location at Central Avenue and Camelback Road. A relocation would have moved Dutch Bros. a few blocks west to a vacant lot next to Southern Rail restaurant and Changing Hands Bookstore.

The unused location still holds a special permit for car rental and leasing, a holdover from an Enterprise Rent-a-Car that operated there until 2011. Property owner Barry Chasse said Dutch Bros. helped start the application to rezone the location for commercial uses, but has since withdrawn itself from the process.
