The Scottsdale City Council unanimously approved development and parking plans and zoning changes for the planned Museum Square project in Old Town.

The mixed-use project is next to the Museum of the West and located at a city owned property at Goldwater Boulevard near Marshall Way that was previously a transit center.

MacDonald development is slated to build a new 190-room, 150-foot hotel, 346 multifamily units and a restaurant on the 7.34-acre site it is buying from the city.

The developer improved its parking plans as part of the finalized deal with the city.
