Here are the latest additions to Eastmark Great Park in Mesa

The welcome sign for DMB’s Eastmark community in east Mesa is at the main entrance at Ray and Ellsworth roads.

An expanded park debuts next week in Mesa’s largest master-planned community and will be open to the public rather than restricted to Eastmark residents.

Eastmark residents paid $7.6 million for the expansion, but the city will pay nearly $650,000 annually to maintain and operate the park at 5100 S. Eastmark Parkway.

The unique agreement allows Eastmark Great Park to be an amenity for all city residents, according to Marc Heirshberg, the city’s parks, recreation and community facilities director.
