Pinal officials discuss concerns with upcoming census

Restriction on teachers of concern

The Board of Supervisors heard an update Wednesday on the 2020 U.S. Census in Pinal County.

While “Complete Count” committees have already begun work around the county, the census’ major advertising campaign will take place from early January to mid-March, Pinal County Public Information Officer Steve Frazier told the supervisors.

Supervisor Pete Rios, D-Dudleyville, said teachers are a great resource for getting the word out, but their communications have also been restricted recently.

“I don’t want teachers in a bad spot, but we also need their help,” Rios said.
