Tempe Vice Mayor Lauren Kuby has thrown her support behind former City Councilman Corey Woods, who is challenging Mayor Mark Mitchell in the March 10 general election.

Kuby and her family will host a campaign fundraiser for Woods at her home next month to celebrate his 41st birthday.

“Corey Woods has a vision for the City of Tempe that compels me to set aside the conventional wisdom to stay out,” Kuby wrote in a Facebook post Wednesday that was later shared with Woods’ supporters in an email blast.
