The city of Avondale named Kenneth Chapa as its new economic development director, replacing Dan Davis, who retired in October.

Chapa begins working for Avondale on Jan. 20, 2020. He has worked for the city of Henderson, Nevada in the economic development office for the past three years, including as manager and interim director.

“This is a time of tremendous growth for Avondale, with the city poised to attract new development in each of our key sectors – from the city’s health tech corridor and corporate commerce areas identified for manufacturing to the newly established sports and entertainment district known as The BLVD,” Avondale City Manager Charles Montoya said in a statement. “Ken will lead Avondale’s economic development team in working with the city’s development and engineering services professionals to provide a top-notch customer experience for those seeking to do build and do business in Avondale.”
