The city of Buckeye has approved economic development grants to help property owners improve four commercial properties.

The grants are part of Buckeye’s Economic Development Catalyst Program aimed at helping improve properties in the Wet Valley city.

The Buckeye City Council approved four grants totaling $106,250 at a meeting this week.

The grants include $50,000 to help the Ranchouse Motel with a $115,000 exterior remodel; $50,000 for improvements at a Shell Gas Station; $3,750 to aid Cactus State Insurance with a $5,000 landscaping project and $2,500 for improvements at the Zarco Building.

Buckeye has now helped 31 businesses with the program since it began 6 years ago.
