The Glendale City Council has approved the sale of Glen Lakes Golf Course to a builder who wants to build new homes on the 43-acre site at Northern and 55th avenues.

Glendale has owned the now shuttered golf course since 1979. The Council approved the $6.5 million golf course sale to Towne Development Inc.

The Glendale Council also approved the sale of the Bank of America Plaza building at 5800 West Glenn Avenue in downtown Glendale to Keech Properties LLC for $4.67 million.
