Town manager says building is booming in Florence

The town is growing at a rate comparable to Valley cities, and will issue almost 400 single-family-home building permits by the end of the year.

“We’re setting records. … Of all the communities in the Phoenix metroplex, Florence is third in year-over-year growth rate,” Town Manager Brent Billingsley said in a year-end interview. “Coolidge and Casa Grande had the highest increases, we’re third. However, Florence is issuing more permits currently than both of those communities combined.

He clarified that Florence has had steady growth, whereas they’ve had a steep drop-off, and now a steep rise in terms of development. He said the town issued more single-family permits in 2019 than Glendale, Apache Junction, Avondale and Coolidge.
