Construction is set to begin on new Pinal County office buildings in Maricopa and Florence, after contracts were awarded by the Board of Supervisors Wednesday.
The board voted to award construction contracts for a county government complex in Maricopa’s Heritage District and a new two-story Development Services office and Emergency Operations Center in Florence.
Low bidder on the Maricopa building was Johnson Carlier LLC with a bid of $9,929,900. Low bidder on the Florence building was Danson Construction LLC with a bid of $13,235,000.
Supervisor Steve Miller, R-Casa Grande, asked county staff how many bidders there were. A staff member replied there were perhaps two on the Maricopa building and approximately four on the Florence building. Miller asked her to look it up and report back to him.
