Entrepreneur: Women-led Valley group digs into land investments

What started as a part-time venture for Anita Verma-Lallian, Eileen Jain Sahai and Smita Patil Mehta grew in less than a year into a Valley land investment company that has raised more than $4 million from some 50 investors.

The women started SLM Land Holdings in May 2019 with the goal of allowing people who want to invest smaller amounts to buy in strategic locations. Verma-Lallian, who also works with her family’s company, Vermaland, said she was approached over the years by people wanting to invest in land. SLM Land Holdings will provide the expertise and concierge service needed for smaller investors.

The firm has acquired four parcels in the West Valley, including three near Tonopah and one in Buckeye near Tartesso, one of the fastest-growing master-planned communities in the country.
