A developer wants to tear down some buildings to add a hotel, retail space, offices, and residential areas between the canal and Fifth Avenue in Old Town Scottsdale. The City Council already gave the developer the green light for the project’s zoning, but not everybody is for it.

WATCH: Planned Old Town Scottsdale development hangs in the balance

A group called Save Scottsdale has one more day to collect enough signatures to try to reverse City Council’s decision. About 12,000 signatures would put the zoning decision on the ballot for voters in Scottsdale. The group won’t know until Friday if enough people signed the petition.
