The Gilbert Town Council will vote next week on rezoning plans for an infill development at Cooper and Guadalupe roads.

The Council will consider rezoning 1.5 acres of land for the proposed Murphy on the Tracks development. The Moulin Group wants to build a new infill project with restaurants and retail on the site which is along the Union Pacific railroad line in the East Valley. The project looks to embrace the railroad line.

The land is currently zoned for industrial use. The rezoning would allow for commercial uses such as restaurants and retail. The developers hope to their infill project will emulate the success of restaurants in the Heritage District as well as the mix of uses at Agritopia.

The project is on the Gilbert Council’s January 21st agenda.
