It’s been a banner year for building permits in Casa Grande. The city had a total of 1,535 building permit applications by the end of November for everything from new homes to renovations to solar installations, according to the Casa Grande Planning and Development Department. Last year, the city had a total of 1,206 permits pulled by the end of November.
The largest number of new construction permits this year were for new single-family homes, which clocked in 549 permits. Last year, the city saw a total of 225 single-family home permits pulled by the end of November.
Most of the new houses are being built in subdivisions that have lain dormant since the housing market collapse in 2008.
