A State Bar of Arizona investigation into ex-Tempe City Councilman Kolby Granville, a licensed attorney, has been dismissed.
The decision is the result of “additional material evidence” that called into question whether enough probable cause existed to move forward and file a formal complaint against Granville, according to the order to vacate.
The additional evidence was not detailed in the document, and the Bar did not immediately provide more information.
The Bar was looking into whether Granville violated rules of professional conduct after allegations were made against Granville in late 2017 and early 2018 by three former students of Tempe Preparatory Academy, where Granville taught.
Granville was fired from his teaching post and later removed from the Tempe City Council. He voluntarily forfeited his teaching license in 2019
