The Gilbert Town Council will vote next week to hire a consultant to examine parking, traffic, pedestrian and wayfinding improvements in its popular Heritage District.
Gilbert is considering hiring Walker Consultants via a $151,480 contract. The Town Council will vote on the contract at its March 3 meeting.
The Heritage District is home to popular restaurants and bars including OHSO Brewery, Culinary Dropout, Zinburger, Oregano’s and Barrio Queen. Gilbert has built parking garages for the area and is looking at pedestrian and traffic improvements.
The town owns much of the land in the Heritage area long Gilbert Road.
Walker Consultants will also look at technology, wayfinding and special event managements as part of its work for the East Valley town.
