Spring training fans attending games at Camelback Ranch this year may face less of a traffic jam, thanks to a new road leading to the ballpark.
Glendale officials and business leaders on Tuesday celebrated the opening of a new stretch of Ballpark Boulevard, which used to run north from Camelback Road and dead end at the ballpark’s parking lot, but now stretches farther north, to Maryland Avenue.
The ballpark, near Camelback Road and 107th Avenue on Glendale-owned land in Phoenix, is home to the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox. Those attending games in past years faced traffic coming to and from the games, in part because there was only one way in and out.
