With little time left to spare before the Feb. 22 start of Spring Training, the City of Scottsdale and construction crews put the finishing touches on the first round of improvements at Scottsdale Stadium.
The Phase 1 improvements were estimated to cost $50.6 million and included a new team clubhouse for the San Francisco Giants, press box and upgrades to the Charro Lodge fan area in right field.
Under an agreement between the city, Giants and Scottsdale Charros, the city agreed to pay up to $30 million towards the ongoing Phase 1 of renovations in addition to the $5 million it paid towards designing the improvements.
