The city of Glendale is considering rezoning 161 acres of farmland near the Loop 303 for potential new commercial development.
Two Las Vegas-based groups, Cotton Bethany LLC and 303 Cotton LLC, are asking the city to rezone the land from agriculture to planned development for potential commercial and industrial projects.
The land is west of the Loop 303 between Glendale and Bethany Home Roads on Cotton Lane.
The developers could build as much a 2.5 million square of distribution space at the property which was annexed into the city of Glendale in January.
The Glendale Planning Commission will consider the rezoning at its meeting tomorrow and then the rezoning heads to the Glendale City Council.
Ray Koroghli, Hamid Mahban and Barney Nemiroff are listed as the corporate managers of the two Vegas groups eyeing the development, according to Arizona Corporation Commission records.
