Casa Grande general plan won’t be on November ballot

By Suzanne Adams-Ockrassa | Casa Grande Dispatch

CASA GRANDE – Residents won’t get a chance to vote on the new general plan for the city in November’s election.

Planning and Development Director Paul Tice told the Casa Grande City Council Monday evening that the process of engaging the public in the development of the new plan is taking a bit longer than expected. He said a draft of the plan probably won’t be ready for review by the public or council until September or October of this year.

Once that draft is published, he said, the city has to wait 60 days to gather public comments before it can make any additional changes. Then there is another couple of months of public hearings before the city Planning and Zoning Commission and council.
