Luxury Builder Cullum Homes Opens Up “Lego-like” Home in the Village at Silverleaf in Scottsdale for Charity.
Special Olympics Arizona to benefit from the Lego-like home.
(SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.) — National Custom Home Builder of the Year and Scottsdale based luxury custom home builder Cullum Homes has been putting the finishing touches on their “Lego-like,” 4,415-square-foot house in The Village at Silverleaf community.
Insulated Concrete Forms are frequently compared to Legos, so Cullum Homes and ICF Specialists Ltd. are teaming up to build this block toy concept in support of Special Olympics Arizona. This is the first time it has been done in Scottsdale.
The Arizona made ICF blocks are painted in bright colors like red, green, blue, white and yellow and resemble toy building blocks.
Because of the concrete and foam construction, ICF structures are extremely energy efficient, sound proof, reduce up to 70% air pollution from the outside, and are resistant to hurricanes, earthquakes, wildfires, and termites. These homes are not only beneficial to the environment and communities, but they allow for a unique opportunity to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics Arizona necessities.
“Cullum Homes is proud to support Special Olympics Arizona, and we look forward to helping raise awareness and much needed funding for their programs here in Arizona. The Silverleaf community and its’ residents are very philanthropically minded, and our unique project featuring ICF (insulated concrete form) ‘building blocks’ in The Village at Silverleaf provides the perfect setting to shine a spotlight on Special Olympics and the services they provide here in Arizona,” said Rod Cullum, founder and owner of Cullum Homes.
An on-site camera is set-up to capture via time lapse the entire ICF block stacking process that will take many weeks to complete. A special Media Day to showcase Cullum’s ‘Lego-like’ home will be held at Wednesday, March 25th from 11am to 1pm where members of the media can get a tour of the home.
