The Goodyear City Council has approved an ordinance allowing more flexibility with the creation and development of commercial lots.

The city had required commercial lots to have a width of 150-feet and with lot sizes of 10,000 square feet.

The Council voted earlier this week to lift those requirements in certain circumstances. The aim is to encourage more businesses to invest and locate in the West Valley city.

A staff presentation on the approved proposal found several Valley cities including Glendale, Peoria, Gilbert, Chandler and Buckeye do not have minimum lots and size requirements.

“Goodyear has been leading on economic development in the good times and I’m not surprised to see their leadership and staff pivot to lead in these more challenging times as well!” ~ Jordan Rose, Founder of Rose Law Group
