Mesa asked to include land in Elliot Road Tech Corridor

The Mesa City Council is being asked to include just over 10 acres of land at Elliot and Signal Butte Roads into the Elliot Road Tech Corridor.

That would change the zoning on the land from agriculture to light industrial and planned development.

Signal Butte Grid LLC is requesting opting in the land into the tech corridor as part of a potential development.

Signal Butte Grid is an arm of Able Grid Energy Solutions, according to Arizona Corporation Commission records. Able Grid is a renewable energy company focusing on large scale battery storage.

The Mesa Council will consider opting in the land at its March 16th meeting

The East Valley city has been looking to grow its technology base including in the Elliot Road Technology Corridor has zoning and land-use policies aimed at encouraging tech related developments.

Apple already has data and operations center in Mesa and Google is also building a new large data center there.
