Mesa is one of the best-connected cities in the country as the Coronavirus pandemic has many workers and students staying at home.
More than 90 percent of Mesa of households have residential internet service, according Commercial Café, commercial real estate information group.
That ranks Mesa 6th nationally among major U.S. cities. San Jose is the ‘most connected’ major American city with 93.3 percent of its households the residential internet service.
Only San Diego, Seattle, Austin, Portland and Sacramento have higher household internet connection percentage than Mesa’ 90.1 percent.
Mesa ranks higher on the list than the likes of San Francisco (10th), Boston (15th), Washington D.C. (16th), and Los Angeles (18th).
Phoenix ranks 17th on the list with 85.9 percent of households connected to the web. Tucson ranks 19th (85.5 percent), according to Commercial Cafe’s analysis.
Mesa, Phoenix and other Arizona cities have declared states of emergency and many businesses, schools and workplaces have closed. Even, Starbucks and other venues with internet service have closed their public areas.
That has workers and students relying on residential internet services to stay connected and working.
