NAI Horizon has hired commercial real estate executive Thomas Smith to help the brokerage firm target churches and other religious facilities to help them with their real estate needs and potential growth.

Smith has been hired as a senior vice president at NAI Horizon’s Phoenix office. He was previously an executive vice president with CBRE.

He will spearhead NAI Horizon’s Church Realty Services. A number of churches and other religious properties in the Phoenix metro area have been redeveloped or sold to developers.

Other churches are looking at how to best navigate their future growth and real estate needs while others may look at selling portions (or in some instances all) of their real estate holdings.

“I’m excited about joining NAI Horizon and employing the many resources it has created to effectively deliver world class results to my future clients in the Arizona community,” Smith said.
