Officials confirm son of Pinal County healthcare worker also positive for coronavirus

The Translational Genomics Research Institute in Flagstaff has received live samples of COVID-19 and will be analyzing a sample from Arizona’s second confirmed coronavirus case to trace the source of the infection.

A Queen Creek town official said a local student has a confirmed case of Coronavirus.

In a Facebook post from Queen Creek Town Councilmember Jeff Brown explained on Sunday that the son of a Pinal County health care worker, that was confirmed positive for the virus on Saturday, also has a confirmed diagnosis. 

The boy is a student of American Leadership Academy, Ironwood 7-12, Brown said. He noted in the post that a letter is being sent out to families of students on all ALA campuses.
