Phoenix saw $1.8B in construction starts in 2020 — before COVID-19

During the first two months of 2020, $1.86 billion worth of nonresidential buildings began construction in the Phoenix area, the lion’s share of which began construction in February, according to research by Dodge Data & Analytics.

The highest-value project to be under construction in February was the $250 million manufacturing plant for Mark Anthony Brewing, the Canadian maker of White Claw Hard Seltzer, Mike’s Hard Lemonade and other beverages, which is going to be built near Reems Road between Peoria and Olive avenues in Glendale.

Manufacturing and other industrial developments saw some of the biggest year-over-year increases in the value of projects beginning construction during January and February compared with the same period in 2019.
