5 running for 3 Coolidge council seats; mayor unopposed

COOLIDGE — Monday’s deadline for locals to file as candidates for city council in the 2020 election has come and gone.

Five people are in the race for three seats, currently occupied by Vice Mayor Jacque Hendrie-Henry, Councilman Steve Hudson and Councilman Jimmy Walker.

At the end of March, Walker announced that he will not be running for re-election. Both Hendrie-Henry and Hudson have filed packets with the city clerk’s office, confirming they will be seeking re-election.
