Arizona’s PPE shortage better addressed with a centralized system, legislators say

Two state legislators are questioning the way Arizona is meeting one of the most urgent needs in its fight against coronavirus: personal protective equipment for health care workers.

Various Arizona hospitals, health systems and at least one county are accepting donations of PPE such as gowns, gloves, goggles, hand sanitizer and masks. Such items are crucial to ensuring front-line medical workers are not infected as they care for people sick with COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus.
