The Gilbert Town Council is being asked to rezone 16.62 acres near Ray Road and San Tan Parkway for a proposed apartment complex.
The land is currently zoned for commercial use. The Council will consider changing the zoning to multifamily residential at its April 7th meeting.
Plans call for a 159-unit multifamily development called The Bungalows on Ray.
Development calls for a one-story development with apartment homes being built clusters. There will 52 one-bedroom, 72 two-bedroom and 35 three-bedroom unit at the East Valley development. The land is currently undeveloped.
The land is owned by Michael B. Wood, according to town documents.
