Coolidge puts off decision on allowing outdoor marijuana cultivation

COOLIDGE — An effort to allow for outdoor cultivation of marijuana within the city limits came to a standstill, at least temporarily, during the April 13 Coolidge City Council meeting.

The proposed amendments to the zoning code were tabled to allow additional information to be brought to the council at a later date. The vote was unanimous with Councilman Ben Navarro absent. The decision was made shortly after a public hearing on the issue.

The amendments, recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission, would update sections 1004(D), 1008(B) and 1008(C) of the zoning code. The first proposed change would authorize medical marijuana dispensaries operating within the city to expand their hours of operation to the weekend.
