Coronavirus delays groundbreaking on large north Phoenix office building

Closures due to the novel coronavirus have already delayed some real estate transactions and have caused developers to push back some start dates on one of the Valley’s biggest development projects.

While grading and other improvements have already begun at City North near Desert Ridge Marketplace in north Phoenix, groundbreaking on the first office building for the project, which was planned for September, has been delayed, Robert Flaxman, CEO of Crown Realty & Development, said in an April 10 webinar hosted by Rose Law Group. However, Flaxman said he believes the “first building out of the cycle will be the first to absorb,” and is moving forward with plans for the project.
