If NBA resumes, Suns will play in Coliseum

While it is unclear when or if the National Basketball Association will restart its season, the Phoenix Suns won’t be able to play in Talking Stick Resort Arena.

With the COVID-19 outbreak causing the NBA to stop its season, and all other concerts and events at the arena were canceled, the Suns sped up the schedule of the most labor-intensive parts of the $230 million renovation to the downtown venue. A major demolition is set to start on April 6.

The largest portions of the renovation of Talking Stick Resort Arena will happen this summer. The arena will be closed until next fall when the 2020-2021 NBA season is expected to start.

If the 2019-2020 NBA season starts up again, the Suns will play any remaining home games at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the Arizona State Fairgrounds just outside of downtown Phoenix.
