Sun Belt Land Holdings LP wants the city of Mesa to rezone 74 acres of vacant land near Ellsworth and Ray Roads for a proposed mixed-use development.
The parcels are currently zoned for agriculture and light industrial uses. Sun Belt wants Mesa to change the zoning to allow for a mixed-use project called Mesa Ray.
The land is near the Loop 202, Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport and the Eastmark development. The Mesa Planning Commission will look at the zoning change at its meeting today. Sun Belt is looking to bring offices, industrial and residential spaces to the project.
Mesa annexed the farmland in 2000.
