Belfiore Real Estate Consulting is hosting top homebuilding CEOs as well as leading real estate dealmakers for a virtual forum on Thursday gauging the impacts of COVID-19.

The May 14th event features Taylor Morrison Homes Chairman, President and CEO Sheryl Palmer, Meritage Homes  Chairman and CEO Steve Hilton and Sunbelt Holdings President and CEO Sean Walters will talk about the impact the Coronavirus has had on the real estate market and economy.

Rose Law Group Founder and President Jordan Rose will moderate the panel. The event starts at 1:00 p.m.

“I think we are going to get a real-time snapshot on how much the market has changed since the middle of March,” said Jim Belfiore, president of Belfiore Real Estate Consulting.

COVID-19 has shutdown much of the economy and cost jobs. Belfiore said the panel will give insight on impacts on home sales, land deal and real estate development. He said the impact on home builders might not be as dramatic as expected.

Belfiore also noted that Taylor Morrison recently reported 20 percent of its recent sales were done virtually.

He said the event will also give broader insight to which developments and deals are moving forward and which are not as the Arizona economy starts to reopen.

“How many builders still are buying. How many are delaying,” Belfiore said of the some of the questions he expected addressed at the event.
