Goodyear outlines reopening plans

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The city of Goodyear will start to reopen on Monday, May 11th.

The West Valley city announced a three phased opening of city offices and buildings. They have been closed since the state of Arizona issued its COVID-19 orders on April 1st.

Goodyear will open city offices to the public on Monday though City Council and Planning and Zoning meetings will remain virtual.

The city will also open tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, playgrounds and the Roscoe Dog Park.

A city skate park is not yet reopening.

Many city employees will continue to work at home during Phase 1 and those at the reopened offices will wear face masks. The city has also installed new glass barriers at public counters along with social distancing reminders.

Goodyear will move into the next phases of reopening, including when it feels schools and other venues can reopen, as city officials gauge the COVID-19 situation.
