La Paz Board looks at option on more BLM land with big solar plans

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

La Paz County has already struck a big land deal with the Bureau of Land Management for a mammoth solar energy development.

The La Paz County Board of Supervisors will look at an option on an additional 1,935 acres of land at its meeting today.

The Board will meet in Executive Session first and then potentially take public action on the land option.

BLM has conveyed 5,900 acres of land to La Paz County.

The county has an agreement with South Korea-based 174 Power Global to build a solar energy project on 4,000 acres. The planned 850 MW facility would be the largest solar production project in the U.S.
